How Islamic credit cards work

Islamic cards replace interest with Sharia-compliant structures — typically murabaha, tawarruq or a fixed ujrah fee — approved by each bank’s Sharia board. Day to day they work like any card: you can earn cashback or miles, pay in installments and use the same networks.

Compare the fixed monthly fee or profit rate the same way you would an interest rate, and check what happens if you carry a balance — structures differ more between Islamic banks than headline rewards do.
