Rewards rate
" 99 a year is close to the floor for a Sharia-compliant rewards card, and the instant app redemption with no minimum threshold is genuinely user-friendly. But the earn rates are thin — 0.5 per 100 at home, a quarter of that on groceries, fuel and bills — and ADIB never publishes what a point is worth. Take it as a cheap Islamic daily card; the 100 jump to the Platinum buys the actual travel perks."
Earning and redeeming Exceed Rewards
The structure mirrors the Platinum at softer rates: 1.0 Exceed Rewards per 100 internationally, 0.5 per 100 at home, and a long 'Specific Merchants' list — supermarkets, government services, utilities, education, petrol stations, real estate agencies, public transport, Salik and charities — earning just 0.125 per 100. Europe is the trap to know about: spend in EEA countries earns 0.125, not the international rate, per Visa's country classification.
Redemption is the programme's best feature: points convert instantly in the ADIB mobile app to utility bill payments (DEWA, Etisalat, du), retail and online shopping vouchers, or money towards flights and hotels — no minimum threshold, no blackout dates. Points land within 45 days of your billing cycle and last three years. What ADIB does not publish is the value of a point, so treat the earning as a bonus rather than a reason to choose the card.

Is it right for you?
Get this card if
- You want the cheapest Sharia-compliant rewards card ADIB offers, at 99 a year.
- You pay your balance in full every month and just want simple points on daily spend.
- Roadside assistance and school-fee instalments matter more to you than travel perks.
Consider skipping it if
- Your spending is mostly groceries, fuel, bills and school fees — those earn a token 0.125 per 100.
- You carry a balance — the fixed 3.75% monthly profit rate (45.63% APR) is among the market's highest.
- You travel even a little — 100 more buys the Platinum's 2 lounge visits and a 50% higher international rate.
Alternatives to consider
100 more a year buys 2 LoungeKey lounge visits and lifts the international rate from 1.0 to 1.5 per 100 — the better Exceed card for anyone who flies.
