"Price the perks and the maths is easy: unlimited lounges plus family travel cover for ⃃ 299 undercuts most premium cards by a wide margin. Just don't apply for the points — everyday UAE spend earns half an Exceed Reward per ⃃ 100, and ADIB won't even tell you what one is worth."

Earning and redeeming Exceed Rewards

The card earns through the ADIB Exceed Rewards Loyalty Program: 0.5 Exceed Rewards per ⃃ 100 in the UAE, 1 per ⃃ 100 internationally, and a headline 2.5 per ⃃ 100 on airline tickets — though the airline rate is capped at 50 Exceed Rewards per transaction and 150 a month, so roughly ⃃ 6,000 of flights exhausts it.

Mind the reduced-rate list: supermarkets, government services (fines, taxes), utilities, education, petrol stations, real estate, public transport, Salik and charities all earn just 0.125 per ⃃ 100, and so does everything in the European Economic Area. Redemption happens instantly in the ADIB Mobile App against a rewards catalogue — ADIB publishes no per-point value, so treat the points as a light bonus on top of the card's travel perks rather than a reason to apply.

Pros and cons

Pros
Cons
  • Unlimited worldwide lounge access at a mid-tier ⃃ 299 fee
  • Free Booking.com Genius status with an extra 10% off select hotels
  • Multi-trip travel cover for the family plus 24/7 medical assistance
  • Free valet parking twice a month via Valtrans
  • Purchase protection and 24-month extended warranty
  • Base earning is thin — 0.5 Exceed Rewards per ⃃ 100 in the UAE
  • Supermarkets, fuel, utilities, education and government spend earn almost nothing (0.125 per ⃃ 100)
  • Airline earning capped at 150 Exceed Rewards a month
  • ADIB doesn't publish what an Exceed Reward is worth, or the card's FX markup
  • EEA spend earns the same near-zero rate as penalty categories

Is it right for you?

Get this card if

  • You want unlimited lounge access without paying a premium-card fee.
  • You book hotels on Booking.com and will register for the Genius upgrade.
  • You travel with family and value the multi-trip cover and assistance services.

Consider skipping it if

  • You're chasing rewards value — the earn rates and unpublished point values won't reward big spending.
  • Most of your budget goes to supermarkets, fuel, utilities or school fees, which earn 0.125 per ⃃ 100.
  • You carry a balance — the 3.75% monthly Murabaha profit rate will dwarf any perk value.
