Cashback rate
"Cashback Plus pays its best rates exactly where UAE families spend — supermarkets, school fees, restaurants, phone bills — and stacks a premium-feeling perk set on top. But be honest with yourself about your monthly total: at 5,000 a month you're a 3% cardholder, not a 10% one, and the 200 category caps mean even big spenders top out at 800 a month."
Earning and redeeming Cashback Points
Four categories earn: supermarkets, education, dining and telecom, in the UAE and abroad. The rate is set by your total monthly card spend — everything counts toward the tier, but only the four categories earn. 3,000–9,999 pays 3%, 10,000–17,499 pays 5%, and 17,500+ unlocks the full 10%. Each category caps at 200 cashback a month, and months below 3,000 earn nothing.
Points are worth 1 each and redeem in seconds through Online Banking or the EI + app (Cards → Rewards → Redemption). They stay valid for 2 years — after that, or if you cancel the card, unredeemed points are forfeited. Balance transfers, cash advances, instalment plans, fees and refunds never earn.

Pros and cons
- 10% on groceries, school fees, dining and telecom is among the highest category rates in the UAE — and works abroad too
- The four bonus categories are exactly where UAE family budgets go
- Unlimited lounge access with a guest, golf, valet, movie cashback and Sharjah Ladies Club — a big perk set for a mid-fee card
- Salik auto top-up and metro Gold Class are genuinely useful Dubai commuter extras
- Simple redemption: 1 point = 1, redeemed in-app in seconds
- The 10% rate needs 17,500+ of TOTAL monthly spend — at 3,000–9,999 you only earn 3%
- 200 monthly cap per category limits maximum cashback to 800 a month
- Spending below 3,000 in a month earns nothing at all
- No published rate on spending outside the four bonus categories
- Most lifestyle perks (golf, valet, movies, meet & greet) require 5,000 monthly spend
- 2.54% foreign-currency fee plus ~1.15% network fee on non- spends

- You drive Salik roads or ride the metro daily and will actually use the RTA extras.

Frequently asked questions
How does Cashback Plus tiered earning work?+
Your cashback rate on supermarkets, education, dining and telecom depends on your TOTAL monthly card spend: 0% below AED 3,000; 3% from AED 3,000–9,999; 5% from AED 10,000–17,499; and 10% at AED 17,500 or more. All card spending counts toward the tier, but only the four categories earn cashback.
Is there a cap on cashback?+
Yes — AED 200 per category per month (AED 800 total across supermarkets, education, dining and telecom).
What is a Cashback Point worth?+
1 Cashback Point = AED 1. Redeem within seconds via Online Banking or the EI + app under Cards → Rewards → Redemption.
What is the annual fee?+
AED 299 excluding VAT (AED 313.95 including VAT) for the primary cardholder. Supplementary cards are free.
Do the points expire?+
Yes. Cashback Plus points are valid for 2 years from the date of earning; unredeemed points expire, and any balance is forfeited if the card is cancelled.
Which transactions don't earn cashback?+
Balance transfers, cash withdrawals and advances, easy payment plan and school-fee plan instalments, fees and charges, card payments, merchant refunds, and other transactions the bank determines from time to time.
Is the card Sharia compliant?+
Yes. Emirates Islamic cards use the Murabaha structure. A 3.69% monthly profit rate applies to unpaid balances, and late payment triggers an AED 131.25 commitment-to-donate amount paid to charity.
Does the card include airport lounge access?+
Yes — unlimited complimentary access to 1,000+ lounges worldwide via the Visa Airport Companion app, for primary and supplementary cardholders. The first visit each calendar year is free; later free visits require a small foreign-currency spend 15 days before travel, otherwise USD 32 per visit applies.
