"If Yas, Saadiyat and the Aldar malls are where your family spends its weekends, this is the Islamic card to carry there — 10% back, a 2% foreign-spend rate and unlimited lounges with a guest. Do the fee maths first: about AED 875 a month at Aldar covers the AED 999, and AED 75,000 a year of total spend makes it disappear from year two."

Earning and redeeming Darna Points

Darna is Aldar's loyalty programme, and the ADIB Aldar cards earn its points on every purchase. The Infinite pays 200 Darna Points per AED 100 (10% back) at eligible Aldar Malls and Aldar Hospitality entities, 40 points (2%) on international spend outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and 30 points (1.5%) on other local spend — Aldar Education and Aldar Development included. EEA merchants and ADIB's "specific merchants" list (supermarkets, fuel, utilities, government, non-Aldar education, real estate agents, transport, Salik, charities) drop to 5 points (0.25%).

ADIB values 1 Darna Point at AED 0.05. You track and redeem points in the Darna Rewards / Live Aldar app — as cashback to your card or to friends, as Aldar mall gift cards, for Khidmah services or charity, or to boost your Darna tier. There are no airline or hotel transfer partners, so the value stays inside Aldar's ecosystem.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ADIB Aldar Visa Infinite have an annual fee?+

Yes — AED 999 plus 5% VAT. From the second year onwards the fee is reversed if, in the previous year, you spent the equivalent of AED 30,000 in non-AED transactions or AED 75,000 in total local and international spend. The first four supplementary cards are free; the fifth and later cost AED 999 a year.

What is the welcome bonus?+

20,000 sign-up Darna Points, worth AED 1,000 at ADIB's stated value. You must activate the card and make your first retail purchase within 30 days of the card being issued.

How much are Darna Points worth?+

ADIB values 1 Darna Point at AED 0.05, redeemable through the Darna app — so 200 points per AED 100 is 10% back. You can take points as cashback to your card (or send them to friends), use them for Aldar mall gift cards, Khidmah services or charity, or put them towards a higher Darna tier.

Where do I earn the 10% rate?+

At eligible Aldar Malls and Aldar Hospitality entities (200 Darna Points per AED 100). Aldar Education and Aldar Development payments earn the local rate of 1.5% (30 points per AED 100), international spend outside the EEA earns 2%, and EEA spend earns 0.25%.

Which spending earns the least?+

ADIB's "specific merchants" earn 5 Darna Points per AED 100 (0.25%): supermarkets, government services (fines, taxes), utilities, education, petrol stations, real estate agents, public transport, road tolls/Salik and charities.

Does it include airport lounge access?+

Yes — unlimited complimentary access to over 1,000 lounges in more than 300 cities for the cardholder and one guest, through the Visa Airport Companion app.

Is the card Sharia-compliant?+

Yes. ADIB Aldar cards are covered cards structured free from interest (riba). If you don't pay in full, a fixed monthly profit rate of 3.75% (45.63% APR) applies; paying the full balance within the up-to-55-day grace period avoids it.

How do I apply, and what salary do I need?+

The "Apply Now" button on ADIB's Aldar page sends you to the ADIB mobile app, or you can apply at a branch. Bring your passport, Emirates ID, three months of bank statements and a salary certificate under 30 days old. ADIB doesn't publish a card-specific minimum salary; its covered-card Key Facts Statement sets AED 5,000 a month as the general floor.
