Rewards rate
"This is the Etihad card ADIB clearly poured everything into: the top earn rate, unlimited lounges with a guest, airport transfers, golf, and companion-ticket vouchers once you spend big. But 3,150 all-in every year and a secured covered-card structure are serious commitments — if you board Etihad only a few times a year, the Platinum or Gold tier keeps most of the story for a third of the fee."
Earning and redeeming Etihad Guest Miles
The earn table rewards exactly the spend Etihad wants: 3.5 miles per 4 on Etihad Airways purchases and on foreign-currency spend (dropping to 1.2 per 4 at EEA-based merchants), and 2.5 per 4 on everyday local spend. The UAE's usual penalty list applies as 'specific merchants' — supermarkets, government services, utilities, education, petrol, real estate, public transport, Salik and charities all earn 1 mile per 4. Card purchases also add 1 Etihad Tier Mile per 4 (capped at 50,000 a year, valid 12 months), so your status keeps building between flights.
Miles land in your Etihad Guest account and redeem for flights, upgrades, hotels and partners. The heavier your spend, the better this card gets: 150,000 in a year earns a companion ticket voucher to any Etihad destination in any cabin, and 350,000 adds a class-upgrade voucher (Economy→Business or Business→First). Add complimentary Silver status and a Gold fast track on just 4,500 of Etihad spend in year one, and this becomes the fastest route to meaningful Etihad status ADIB offers.

Is it right for you?
Get this card if
- Etihad is your default airline and you'll route 150,000+ a year through the card for the companion ticket.
- You want premium travel perks — unlimited lounges with a guest, transfers, golf — on a fully Sharia-compliant card.
- You value Etihad status: free Silver, a cheap Gold fast track and Tier Miles on every purchase.
Consider skipping it if
- You fly Etihad only occasionally — 3,150 a year all-in outruns casual miles earning.
- You don't want to tie up a cash cover deposit or enter a Murabaha arrangement to secure the limit.
- Most of your spend is supermarkets, fuel, school fees and utilities, which earn just 1 mile per 4.
