Rewards rate
"The Prime Classic asks nothing and, rewards-wise, gives almost nothing back — 0.5 Wala'a per with 0.2 on the stuff you actually buy. What saves it are the practical extras: US$ 50,000 travel takaful, roadside assistance and a big documentation-free balance-transfer line. A fair free card, not a rewards card."
Earning and redeeming Wala'a Rewards
The Classic earns 0.5 Wala'a Rewards per 1 on UAE retail spend and 0.8 per 1 equivalent in foreign currency — the lowest rates in the Prime range. As across DIB's lineup, supermarkets, telecom, education, petrol, government services (including utility bills), takaful, car dealers, transport and real estate earn only 0.2 per , EU-originated retail spend earns nothing, and DIB-platform bill payments, charity, crypto and similar quasi-cash transactions are excluded.
Wala'a Rewards redeem for flight tickets, hotel stays, retail purchases and bill payments. DIB publishes no fixed value per point and the currency expires — read the Wala'a terms before counting on a return.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DIB Prime Classic Card have an annual fee?+
No. DIB's Schedule of Charges (effective August 2026) lists the annual and renewal fee for all Prime covered cards as free — for life, not just the first year.
What is the minimum salary for the Prime Classic Card?+
DIB doesn't publish a minimum salary on the Prime Classic page. Its Prime Gold sibling asks for AED 5,000 a month; check with the bank for the Classic's exact eligibility.
How many Wala'a Rewards do I earn?+
0.5 Wala'a Rewards per AED 1 on retail spend and 0.8 per AED 1 equivalent in foreign currency. Supermarkets, telecom, education, petrol, government services, takaful, car dealers, transport and real estate earn a reduced 0.2 per AED 1, and EU-originated spend earns nothing.
Is the Prime Classic Card Sharia-compliant?+
Yes. DIB covered cards are structured on the Sharia principle of Salam and approved by the bank's Internal Sharia Supervision Committee. No interest is charged — the bank earns a profit rate, and late payers commit to a charity donation of AED 236.25 rather than paying a penalty to the bank.
Does the card come with travel insurance?+
Yes — travel and medical coverage up to US$ 50,000 when you book your flight tickets with the card, covering you, your spouse and up to four children under 18.
Can I transfer balances from other credit cards?+
Yes. You can consolidate other card balances onto the Prime Classic — up to 80% of your card limit or 100% of the available cash limit — with no documentation required.
