Our take: The UAE's flagship Emirates co-brand: Skywards Silver plus strong Emirates earn rates make it compelling for loyal Emirates flyers — but the ⃃ 3,148.95 joining fee demands real commitment.

Heads up: The ⃃ 3,148.95 joining fee is charged in your first statement, and the 100,000-mile bonus is an 'up to' figure credited on fee payment — everyday domestic spend earns just 1 Mile per USD 1.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

If your loyalty already lives with Emirates, this is the most direct credit card route to Skywards value in the UAE: miles post straight to your Skywards account, the automatic Silver tier delivers Business Class lounge access and priority treatment on every Emirates and flydubai trip, and the 2x rate on Emirates spend compounds what you're already spending on flights. The up-to-100,000-mile welcome bonus is genuinely large — roughly a return Business Class reward to several Skywards destinations.

What to watch

The economics only work if you commit. ⃃ 3,148.95 up front plus ⃃ 1,575 a year from year two is serious money, and away from the bonus categories the earn rate is ordinary — 1 Mile per USD 1 at home and half the international rate in Europe and the UK. Fly Emirates a few times a year in premium cabins and the Silver tier plus bonus miles justify the fees; otherwise the cheaper Skywards Signature or a free travel card will serve you better.

Pros

  • Up to 100,000 bonus Skywards Miles plus first-year Rotana Rewards Exclusive membership
  • Automatic Skywards Silver tier — Business Class lounge access and priority perks with Emirates and flydubai
  • 2 Miles per USD 1 on Emirates, flydubai, duty free, food delivery and car booking apps
  • Lower 3.25% monthly interest rate than most ENBD cards
  • Lounge access via Visa Airport Companion, golf, valet parking and concierge on top

Cons

  • ⃃ 3,148.95 joining fee — one of the steepest entry costs in the UAE market
  • ⃃ 1,575 annual fee from year two with no first-year-free option
  • ⃃ 30,000 minimum salary shuts out most applicants
  • Domestic earn of 1 Mile per USD 1 (~0.27 per ⃃) is modest, and EU/UK spend earns half the international rate
  • 1.99% foreign-transaction fee plus a ~1.15% network fee on non-⃃ spend

Our take: The accessible Emirates co-brand: real Skywards earning, a 40,000-mile bonus and genuinely unlimited lounge access at an ⃃ 12,000 salary — but the joining fee and thin domestic earn temper the deal.

Heads up: The ⃃ 1,573.95 joining fee lands in your first statement, domestic spend earns just 0.75 Miles per USD 1, and there's no Skywards Silver tier — that's reserved for the Infinite.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The Skywards Signature is the sensible way into the Emirates co-brand family: a 12,000-⃃ salary bar instead of 30,000, ⃃ 735 a year instead of 1,575, and the same clean mechanic of miles posting straight to your Skywards account. The unlimited lounge access — over 1,000 lounges in 300+ cities — is a standout at this fee level, and the 40,000-mile welcome bonus meaningfully shortens the runway to a reward flight.

What to watch

Just be clear about what you give up: no Skywards Silver tier, a 3.69% monthly interest rate, and an everyday earn of 0.75 Miles per USD 1 that shrinks to 0.37 in Europe and the UK. If your Emirates and international spend is light, the fees will out-run the miles; if you fly Emirates often and clear the higher salary bar, the Infinite's Silver tier and bigger bonus justify its premium.

Pros

  • Skywards Miles from an ⃃ 12,000 salary — the accessible route into the Emirates co-brand family
  • Unlimited lounge access to 1,000+ lounges in 300+ cities via Visa Airport Companion
  • Up to 40,000 bonus Skywards Miles in the first year
  • 1.5 Miles per USD 1 on Emirates, flydubai, duty free, food delivery and car booking apps
  • 0% instalment plans over 3–24 months at participating merchants

Cons

  • ⃃ 1,573.95 joining fee up front, then ⃃ 735 a year — never free
  • Weak everyday earn: 0.75 Miles per USD 1 domestic (~0.2 per ⃃) and just 0.37 in the EU/UK
  • 3.69% monthly interest is higher than ENBD's premium cards
  • No Skywards Silver tier — that stays exclusive to the Infinite

Our take: The strongest Etihad earner in the UAE short of the invite-tier Limitless — but the ⃃ 2,625 entry price only makes sense if Etihad is your default airline.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

If Etihad is your airline, the Elevate is built to keep you inside its ecosystem: a full mile per ⃃ on Etihad, hotels and dining, a Gold fast track after one return flight, Tier Miles that accrue while you shop, and a 50%-off award voucher every ⃃ 150,000 of spend. That combination — status, miles and cheaper redemptions — is something no generic travel card matches for Etihad flyers.

What to watch

The costs are just as concrete: ⃃ 2,625 to join, ⃃ 1,575 a year thereafter, an ⃃ 30,000 salary floor, and near-zero earning on groceries, fuel and utilities. The 'up to 200,000 miles' welcome offer needs scrutiny at application, since the bank doesn't publish the breakdown. Fly Etihad a few times a year and route travel and dining through it, and the maths works; otherwise the free-for-life alternatives are the smarter home for your daily spend.

Pros

  • Strong earn for an airline card — 1 mile per ⃃ 1 on Etihad, hotels and dining, 0.6 on general spend
  • Fast track to Etihad Guest Gold (50% bonus miles, extra baggage, priority check-in) after a single return flight
  • Up to 200,000 Etihad Guest Miles as a welcome offer
  • 50% miles-discount voucher every ⃃ 150,000 of spend cuts award-flight costs in half
  • Tier Miles on card spend (up to 50,000 a year) keep your status alive without flying

Cons

  • ⃃ 2,625 joining fee, then ⃃ 1,575 every year — steep and never waived
  • ⃃ 30,000 minimum salary puts it out of most applicants' reach
  • Groceries, fuel, utilities and other penalty categories earn 0.06–0.15 miles per ⃃ 1
  • The 200,000-mile welcome offer is 'up to' — the bank doesn't publish the tier breakdown

  • Concierge + 24/7 roadside assistanceConcierge desk plus 24/7 roadside assistance, listed among the card's Emirates NBD advantages.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

If your food, groceries-on-demand and online shopping already run through noon's apps, this card pays you unusually well for it: 20% back on noon Food, 10% on NowNow and 5% everywhere else in the noon universe, with a free noon One membership, a 15% noon Minutes discount and an ⃃ 500 welcome bonus — all on a card that costs nothing and needs only an ⃃ 5,000 salary.

What to watch

Outside the noon ecosystem it is a weak card: 1% base earn, 0.30% on groceries, utilities and most household categories, no lounge or travel perks, and credits that can only ever be spent on noon. The 2,000-credit cycle cap also means heavy noon Food spenders hit the ceiling at around ⃃ 10,000 of orders a month. Keep it as the noon card in your wallet, pair it with a cashback or travel card for everything else, and never carry a balance at 3.69% a month.

Pros

  • No annual fee, ever, at an accessible ⃃ 5,000 salary
  • 20% back on noon Food, 10% on NowNow and 5% across noon, noon Minutes, Namshi and supermall
  • ⃃ 500 cashback welcome bonus on ⃃ 5,000 spend in the first two months
  • Free noon One membership for a year (then 50% off) plus 15% off noon Minutes orders

Cons

  • Credits are only spendable on noon platforms — not cash in your pocket

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The Inspire is the entry ticket to Etihad's credit-card ecosystem: at an ⃃ 12,000 salary you get 0.7 miles per ⃃ on Etihad, hotels and dining, a Silver fast track after a single return flight, lounge access through Visa Airport Companion, and a 25%-off award voucher every ⃃ 100,000 of spend. For an Abu Dhabi-based Etihad flyer who can't reach the Elevate's ⃃ 30,000 salary bar, there is no closer substitute.

What to watch

Be clear-eyed about the costs. ⃃ 1,575 to join and ⃃ 735 a year is a lot for mid-tier earn rates, the price guide puts interest at 3.69% a month, and everyday categories — groceries, fuel, utilities — earn almost nothing. If you fly Etihad once a year or less, a free-for-life travel card will serve you better; if you fly them regularly, the Silver perks and voucher can cover the fee.

Pros

  • Etihad co-brand perks at an ⃃ 12,000 salary — the accessible entry into the Etihad Guest ecosystem
  • 0.7 miles per ⃃ 1 on Etihad, hotels and dining, 0.4 on general spend
  • Fast track to Etihad Guest Silver (25% bonus miles, 10kg extra baggage) after one return flight
  • Lounge access via Visa Airport Companion at more than 1,000 lounges
  • 25% miles-discount voucher every ⃃ 100,000 of spend

Cons

  • ⃃ 1,575 joining fee and ⃃ 735 a year is real money for a mid-tier card
  • 3.69% monthly interest (44.28% p.a.) per the bank's price guide — despite the page's 3.25% claim
  • Groceries, fuel, utilities and other penalty categories earn 0.04–0.15 miles per ⃃ 1
  • The 60,000-mile welcome offer is 'up to' — only a 20,000-mile tranche on fee payment is documented

Our take: A cheap, focused cashback card — 4% on the categories UAE households actually spend on, held back by tight per-category caps.

Heads up: The 4% is capped per category — ⃃ 300 on groceries, fuel and education, ⃃ 200 on dining and just ⃃ 100 on utilities — and the whole card tops out at ⃃ 1,000 cashback a month.

An ongoing feature of ADIB Covered Cards, not a seasonal promotion.
  • Cashback cap: ⃃ 1,000 / month

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

For ⃃ 99 a year this is one of the most efficient everyday cards in the UAE: a genuine 4% on groceries, fuel, school fees, dining and utilities with no minimum-spend hoop published. A family that maxes the caps gets back up to ⃃ 1,000 a month — roughly 120x the annual fee.

What to watch

The catch is the caps. ⃃ 300 of cashback at 4% means only ⃃ 7,500 of grocery spend counts each month, dining stops paying after ⃃ 5,000, and utilities after just ⃃ 2,500. Big spenders will hit the ceilings fast, and there's no published earning on anything else — pair it with another card for general spend, and remember the categories are discretionary and can be changed with notice.

Pros

  • Flat 4% cashback across five everyday spend categories
  • Very low ⃃ 99 annual fee (plus VAT)
  • Grace period of up to 55 days when you pay in full
  • Four free supplementary cards
  • Withdraw up to 100% of your cover limit as cash

Cons

  • Per-category cashback caps are tight — ⃃ 100 to ⃃ 300 each
  • No published cashback rate on spend outside the five categories

Our take: The cheapest route to genuinely unlimited lounge access in ENBD's lineup — as long as you treat it as a lounge-and-dining key, not a primary spending card.

Heads up: Diners Club acceptance is limited compared with Visa/Mastercard, the 0.5% base earn is capped per statement, and there's no welcome bonus — carry it for the lounges, not the rewards.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

Priced at ⃃ 420 a year, this is the cheapest genuinely unlimited lounge proposition in Emirates NBD's lineup: 1,500+ Diners Club lounges in 700+ cities, no visit counting, and — unusually — supplementary cardholders share the benefit. Add up to 30% off at 2,000+ UAE restaurants, free insurance on big purchases and roadside assistance, and the card earns its keep for a frequent flyer's wallet.

What to watch

Just don't make it your main card. Diners Club's acceptance network trails Visa and Mastercard, the 0.5% base earn is capped per statement, there's no welcome bonus, and the bank doesn't even publish this card's interest rate. The winning play is simple: this card for the lounge door and restaurant bills, another card for everything else.

Pros

  • Unlimited lounge access at 1,500+ lounges in 700+ cities — for an ⃃ 420 fee
  • Supplementary cardholders also get lounge access, rare at this price
  • Up to 30% off at more than 2,000 restaurants across the UAE
  • Free insurance on big purchases plus roadside assistance and emergency services
  • 5% back in Plus Points on Duty Free and 2.5% on dining

Cons

  • Diners Club acceptance is far narrower than Visa or Mastercard, especially online and abroad
  • Weak 0.5% base earn, with a Plus Points cap per statement
  • No welcome bonus advertised
  • 1.99% foreign-transaction fee plus scheme processing fees on non-⃃ spend
  • The bank does not publish this card's interest rate on the page or in its price guide

  • Foreign fees: 2.99%

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The 365 Cashback Card is ADCB's aggressive play for everyday spending, and the headline rates are genuinely competitive: 6% on dining, 5% on fuel, Salik and digital subscriptions, and 3% on groceries. The ⃃ 365 welcome bonus and first-year fee waiver make trying it essentially free.

What to watch

The catch is the gate: spend under ⃃ 5,000 in a calendar month and you earn nothing that month, and even heavy spenders hit the ⃃ 1,000 monthly cap. If your monthly card spend sits reliably above ⃃ 5,000, this is one of the strongest cashback cards in the UAE; if it hovers below, the Essential Cashback Card's ⃃ 1,000 floor is the safer pick.

Pros

  • Strong category rates: 6% dining, 5% fuel/Salik and digital subscriptions, 3% groceries
  • ⃃ 365 welcome bonus with a modest ⃃ 5,000 / 45-day spend requirement
  • First-year annual fee waived (⃃ 383.25 value)
  • Low ⃃ 5,000 minimum salary requirement
  • Rare 5% category for streaming and AI subscriptions

Cons

  • No cashback at all in months you spend under ⃃ 5,000
  • Cashback capped at ⃃ 1,000 a month
  • Select categories and EU spends earn only 0.5%

Our take: Unbeatable if talabat is a daily habit — 35% back plus free delivery on a card that never charges a fee — but the rewards are locked inside talabat.

Heads up: The 35% back applies only to your first 10 talabat orders a month, capped at ⃃ 35 per order / ⃃ 350 a month, and requires ⃃ 2,500 monthly retail spend — and it is paid as talabat credit, not cash.

  • Foreign fees: 2.99%
  • Cashback cap: ⃃ 350 / month

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

If talabat is where your food budget lives, this card's maths are hard to beat: 35% back on your first 10 orders a month can return up to ⃃ 350, on top of unlimited free pro delivery and a card that never charges an annual fee. The ⃃ 750 digital-application welcome bonus sweetens year one.

What to watch

The trade-off is total lock-in. Every ⃃ of rewards is talabat credit — unusable outside the app and gone if unspent after two years — and the headline 35% needs ⃃ 2,500 of monthly card spend to trigger. Order talabat a few times a week and it's a clear keeper; order occasionally and a general cashback card will serve you better.

Pros

  • 35% back as talabat credit on the first 10 talabat orders a month
  • No annual fee, ever
  • Up to ⃃ 750 welcome bonus for digital applications
  • Unlimited free delivery on talabat pro orders (⃃ 50+ food, ⃃ 100+ mart)
  • Personalised card designs and 1 talabat credit = ⃃ 1 — simple to value

Cons

  • The 35% rate needs ⃃ 2,500 of monthly retail spend; otherwise talabat orders earn just 1.25%
  • Capped at ⃃ 35 per order and ⃃ 350 a month, on the first 10 orders only
  • Rewards are talabat credit — only spendable on talabat, never cash
  • talabat credit expires 2 years after it is credited

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The Switch Cashback Card fixes the classic cashback-card dilemma — do you optimise for daily life or for travel? — by simply letting you toggle between the two in the app, month by month. In the Lifestyle plan the rates are genuinely useful for a UAE household: 8% on fuel, 4% on supermarkets, dining and school fees. Flip to Travel in a month you fly and airlines and hotels earn 4% instead. Add a free first year, a fee waiver at ⃃ 30,000 a year, and a real Visa Signature perk set (lounges, golf, valet, Marhaba, travel takaful), and this is one of the strongest Islamic cashback propositions in the market.

What to watch

The fine print is where the value shrinks: nothing is earned below ⃃ 2,500 of monthly spend, the accelerated categories cap out at ⃃ 100–200 each, and utilities and government payments earn a token 0.5%. Realistically you're looking at ⃃ 500–700 of cashback a month only if your spending maps neatly onto the capped categories — most people will earn far less. Use it as a disciplined everyday card in the Lifestyle plan, switch before a holiday, and pay in ⃃ abroad only if you must: the 2.54% FX fee eats the 4% travel rate quickly.

Pros

  • 8% on fuel and 4% on supermarkets, dining and education is a strong Lifestyle mix for everyday UAE spending
  • You can switch to a Travel plan (4% airlines, hotels, dining) in-app any month — no other UAE cashback card does this
  • First year free, and the ⃃ 313.95 renewal fee is waived at a realistic ⃃ 30,000 annual spend
  • Genuine Visa Signature perks: lounges, two golf rounds a month, valet, Marhaba meet & greet and multi-trip travel takaful
  • Flexible redemption from ⃃ 300 — statement credit, miles exchange, vouchers, flights and hotels

Cons

  • Nothing is earned in a month where posted spend is below ⃃ 2,500
  • Category caps are tight: ⃃ 200 per category and only ⃃ 100 on the 8% fuel rate — the 8% headline maxes out at ⃃ 1,250 of fuel
  • Utilities, telecom, real estate and government payments earn just 0.5%
  • 2.54% foreign-currency fee (plus the ~1.15% network fee) makes it a poor card to spend abroad, even on the Travel plan
  • Most lifestyle perks carry monthly minimum-spend conditions (⃃ 3,000–5,000) and are billed if you miss them

  • Nol card: RTA benefits: Salik auto top-up and metro Gold ClassAutomatic top-up facility for Salik accounts and Gold Class cabin access on the Dubai Metro, available to primary and supplementary cardholders.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

Cashback Plus targets the four lines that dominate a UAE family budget — groceries, school fees, restaurants and phone bills — and pays up to 10% on all of them, at home and abroad. The perk set is unusually rich for a card costing ⃃ 313.95: unlimited lounges with a guest, two golf rounds and two valet services a month, 50% movie-ticket cashback, Sharjah Ladies Club, and Dubai-commuter extras like Salik auto top-up and metro Gold Class access.

What to watch

The catch is the tier ladder. The 10% rate only switches on at ⃃ 17,500 of total monthly spend; between ⃃ 3,000 and 9,999 you earn just 3%, and below ⃃ 3,000 nothing at all. With the ⃃ 200 per-category caps, even a maxed-out month yields ⃃ 800. Households consistently spending ⃃ 10,000+ a month will do well here; lighter spenders should look at a flat-rate cashback card instead, because the headline number will rarely be the rate they actually get.

Pros

  • 10% on groceries, school fees, dining and telecom is among the highest category rates in the UAE — and works abroad too
  • The four bonus categories are exactly where UAE family budgets go
  • Unlimited lounge access with a guest, golf, valet, movie cashback and Sharjah Ladies Club — a big perk set for a mid-fee card
  • Salik auto top-up and metro Gold Class are genuinely useful Dubai commuter extras
  • Simple redemption: 1 point = ⃃ 1, redeemed in-app in seconds

Cons

  • The 10% rate needs ⃃ 17,500+ of TOTAL monthly spend — at ⃃ 3,000–9,999 you only earn 3%
  • ⃃ 200 monthly cap per category limits maximum cashback to ⃃ 800 a month
  • Spending below ⃃ 3,000 in a month earns nothing at all
  • No published rate on spending outside the four bonus categories

Yajool Editor’s Rating ?Card Rating is based on the opinion of Yajool’s editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.3.5 / 5Go to review

Our take: A fun, genuinely free cashback card with a solid 4% on everyday categories — but the ⃃ 100 monthly cap means the football perks, not the cashback, are the real reason to pick it over EI's other cashback cards.

Heads up: The 4% rate is capped at ⃃ 100 cashback per month across all four categories combined, and you must spend ⃃ 1,000 per month to earn anything — in Europe and the UK the card drops to 0.25%.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

Emirates Islamic built the Barça Cashback Card to be easy to say yes to: no annual fee ever, 4% back on supermarkets, dining, fuel and sports, and a stream of FC Barcelona prize draws — Camp Nou tickets, signed shirts, training-ground visits. As a free Islamic cashback card for everyday UAE spending, it does the job, and the ⃃ 1,000 monthly qualifying spend is a low bar.

What to watch

Look past the crest, though, and the numbers are modest. The 4% categories share a combined ⃃ 100 monthly cap — hit it with about ⃃ 2,500 of category spend and everything after earns the base rates of up to 1–2%. European trips are actively penalised at 0.25%, and the 2.54% foreign-currency fee stings abroad. Treat it as a free everyday card with football perks, not a cashback maximiser — heavier spenders will out-earn it with EI's Switch or Cashback Plus cards.

Pros

  • Genuinely free for life — no annual fee and no spend condition to keep it
  • 4% cashback on four everyday categories: supermarkets, dining, fuel and sports
  • Exclusive FC Barcelona draws: Camp Nou tickets, signed merchandise, club experiences
  • Up to 4 free supplementary cards, with their spends earning cashback for you

Cons

  • The 4% categories share a combined cap of just ⃃ 100 cashback per month
  • You need ⃃ 1,000 of retail spend per month to earn any cashback at all
  • Only 0.25% back in EEA countries and the UK — poor for European travel
  • High 2.54% foreign-currency fee, plus a 3.69% monthly profit rate on carried balances

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The SHAMS Infinite is DIB's answer to the do-everything premium card, and on paper it's one of the best-value packages in the UAE: 5% back on dining and travel, a ~1.75% base rate, 12 lounge visits with a guest, and a golf-valet-fitness-Costa perk set that rivals cards charging ⃃ 1,500+ — all on a card that costs nothing in year one and stays free at ⃃ 60,000 annual spend.

What to watch

The catch is that almost everything is conditional. The lifestyle perks switch off in any month you spend under ⃃ 8,000, lounge entries after the first need pre-planned foreign-currency spend, and the 5% categories cap out around ⃃ 100 of value each per month. Spend ⃃ 8,000–10,000 a month with real dining and travel in the mix and this is arguably the strongest Islamic card in the market; spend less and you'll be paying provider fees for perks you thought were free.

Pros

  • Genuine 5% back on dining and travel — among the strongest category rates in the UAE
  • Effectively free for life: no first-year fee, waived after that at ⃃ 60,000 annual spend
  • Unusually broad perks for a fee-waivable card: golf, Fitness First, valet, Costa BOGO, airport transfers, lounge
  • Solid base earn — 3.5 Wala'a per ⃃ 1 on domestic spend (roughly 1.75% at the bank's valuation)
  • Fully Sharia-compliant Salam structure with late payment handled as a charity donation, not bank income

Cons

  • The headline perks (golf, fitness, valet, Costa, transfers) all require ⃃ 8,000+ retail spend that month
  • Lounge visits after the first each year need prior foreign-currency spend — otherwise USD 32 per entry
  • 5% dining and travel are each capped at 20,000 Wala'a a month (~⃃ 100 of value)
  • 3.70% international usage fee is high — the 4x international earn doesn't cover it
  • Government, groceries, utilities, fuel and similar categories earn just 0.6 Wala'a per ⃃ 1
  • DIB doesn't publish a minimum salary for this card — eligibility is only confirmed at application

Our take: The sensible middle of the SHAMS range — the same 5% dining-and-travel engine as the Infinite with an easier ⃃ 5,000 perk bar, if you can live without golf and Fitness First.

Heads up: Valet, Costa and airport transfers need ⃃ 5,000+ monthly spend to stay free, lounge visits after the first need prior foreign-currency spend (else USD 32), and the 5% dining cap is only ~⃃ 50 of value a month.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The Signature keeps the parts of the SHAMS proposition most people actually use — 5% on dining and travel, lounge entries, valet, Costa BOGO — and halves the numbers you have to hit: ⃃ 5,000 a month to keep the perks live and ⃃ 30,000 a year to keep the card free. For a household spending normally rather than lavishly, that's a more honest fit than the Infinite.

What to watch

The trade-offs are visible caps and thinner extras. Dining value tops out around ⃃ 50 a month, the base rate is ~1.25%, there's no golf or gym, and the lounge allowance is 8 visits with no stated guest policy and the same foreign-spend precondition. If your spend clears ⃃ 8,000 monthly and you'd use the Infinite's country-club perks, step up; if not, the Signature is the SHAMS card that pays for itself fastest.

Pros

  • Same 5% dining and travel rate as the flagship Infinite — at half the fee-waiver and perk thresholds
  • Effectively free for life: no first-year fee, waived after that at just ⃃ 30,000 annual spend
  • 8 lounge visits, 2 valet parkings a month, Costa BOGO and 2 airport transfers a year on a fee-waivable card
  • Fully Sharia-compliant Salam structure with late payment handled as a charity donation, not bank income
  • Meaningful welcome package: 100,000 Wala'a plus up to ⃃ 360 in merchant cashback

Cons

  • Valet, Costa and airport transfers require ⃃ 5,000+ retail spend that month
  • Lounge visits after the first each year need prior foreign-currency spend — otherwise USD 32 per entry, and no guest allowance is stated
  • The 5% dining cap is just 10,000 Wala'a a month (~⃃ 50 of value)
  • 3.70% international usage fee is high — the 3x international earn doesn't cover it
  • Base earn of 2.5 Wala'a per ⃃ 1 (~1.25%) trails the Infinite, and penalty categories drop to 0.4
  • DIB doesn't publish a minimum salary for this card — eligibility is only confirmed at application

Yajool Editor’s Rating ?Card Rating is based on the opinion of Yajool’s editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.3.3 / 5Go to review

Our take: The no-hoops SHAMS: 5% on dining and travel with a fee waiver at ⃃ 15,000 a year and no monthly thresholds — but small caps and no lifestyle perks make it a starter card, not a keeper for bigger spenders.

Heads up: The 5% categories cap out fast — dining at ~⃃ 25 of value a month — the base rate is a modest ~0.75%, and there's no lounge, valet or Costa at this tier.

Why we chose it

What makes it strong

The Platinum strips SHAMS down to its core trick — 10 Wala'a per ⃃ 1 on dining and travel — and attaches the gentlest conditions in the range: no fee in year one, a waiver at ⃃ 15,000 a year, and none of the monthly spend gates that complicate the Signature and Infinite. Add USD 100,000 of family travel cover and it's a clean, honest starter card from a fully Islamic bank.

What to watch

Just size the value realistically: the dining cap means the 5% is worth at most about ⃃ 25 a month, the travel cap another ⃃ 50, and the 0.75% base rate won't move the needle. If you'd actually use lounge visits, valet or Costa — or your dining bill alone passes ⃃ 2,000 a month — the Signature repays its conditions quickly. As a first Islamic card for modest, mostly-domestic spending, though, the Platinum does exactly what it says at essentially zero cost.

Pros

  • Same headline 5% on dining and travel as the premium SHAMS tiers
  • The easiest free-for-life card in the range: no first-year fee, waived at just ⃃ 15,000 annual spend (⃃ 1,250/month)
  • No monthly spend conditions to track — unlike the Signature and Infinite, nothing here switches off
  • Family travel takaful up to USD 100,000 covering spouse and up to 4 children
  • Fully Sharia-compliant Salam structure with late payment handled as a charity donation, not bank income

Cons

  • No lounge access, valet, golf, Costa BOGO or airport transfers — the lifestyle perks live on higher tiers
  • The 5% dining cap is only 5,000 Wala'a a month (~⃃ 25 of value)
  • Weak base earn — 1.5 Wala'a per ⃃ 1 (~0.75%), dropping to 0.3 on groceries, fuel, utilities and government
  • 3.70% international usage fee is high for any overseas use
  • DIB doesn't publish a minimum salary for this card — eligibility is only confirmed at application

Dining rewards: rates vs. discount programmes

Dining value comes two ways: boosted earn rates on restaurant spend, and bank dining programmes with flat discounts at partner restaurants. The strongest setups combine both — a discount at the table and points on the bill.

Delivery apps are the catch: aggregators often code as food delivery, not dining, and some premium cards drop to penalty rates on them. If most of your food spend is delivery, verify the aggregator rate before choosing.

Our take: Free for life with genuinely high earn on noon's apps — the catch is the 2,000-credit monthly cap and rewards that never leave noon's ecosystem.

Frequently asked questions

Mashreq’s Bon Appetit gives up to 30% off at around 2,000 UAE restaurants — on top of the card’s cashback on the discounted bill.

Not always — Talabat, Deliveroo and similar aggregators often code as food delivery, which some cards reward at a lower or penalty rate.

Boosted dining rates usually count toward the card’s overall monthly rewards cap — heavy diners should check the cap before concentrating spend.

How we chose these cards

Yajool's editors score every UAE card on the same four pillars — rewards value, travel benefits, fees & costs, and eligibility. Category winners are re-checked monthly against current public offers.
