"Most 'up to 4%' cards bury the real rate in tiers; this one genuinely pays 4% on seven household categories and tells you the caps up front. The honesty cuts both ways — spend under ⃃ 4,000 in a cycle and you get nothing, and the best caps shrink in October 2026. For a disciplined family budget it's excellent; for casual swiping it's pointless."

Earning guaranteed cashback

The card pays a flat 4% on seven everyday categories: supermarket and hypermarket purchases (capped ⃃ 400/month), automobile servicing (⃃ 400), Etisalat and du bills (⃃ 150), fuel (⃃ 150), utility bills (⃃ 150), Salik and Nol recharges (⃃ 50) and school fees (⃃ 400). Total cashback is capped at ⃃ 1,000 per billing cycle, and from 10 October 2026 the supermarket and school-fee caps drop to ⃃ 300 each.

Two gates matter: you need ⃃ 4,000+ of retail purchases in a statement cycle to earn anything at all, and cashback applies to UAE transactions only. Bills paid through DIB's own platforms, charity, crypto, wire transfers and other quasi-cash transactions never earn. There's no points programme here — cashback is the whole story, which is exactly what makes it easy to value.

Pros and cons

Pros
Cons
  • Guaranteed 4% cashback on supermarkets, fuel, telecom and utility bills, Salik/Nol recharges, car servicing and school fees
  • High combined ceiling: up to ⃃ 1,000 cashback per billing cycle
  • First year free under the current limited-time offer, then a modest ⃃ 261.45 a year
  • Fully Sharia-compliant Salam-based covered card — late payment is a charity donation, not bank income
  • Travel and medical takaful cover up to US$ 100,000, plus free roadside assistance and a free international driving licence
  • You must spend at least ⃃ 4,000 on retail in a statement cycle to earn any cashback at all
  • Cashback only applies to the seven listed everyday categories, and only on UAE transactions
  • Per-category caps bite: supermarket and school-fee caps drop from ⃃ 400 to ⃃ 300 in October 2026
  • ⃃ 15,000 minimum salary — triple the Consumer Reward card's requirement
  • High 3.70% international usage fee, and bills paid via DIB's own platforms earn nothing

Is it right for you?

Get this card if

  • Your household reliably spends ⃃ 4,000+ a month on groceries, fuel, bills, school fees and the car.
  • You earn ⃃ 15,000+ and want guaranteed cashback, not points math.
  • You want a Sharia-compliant card whose rewards are simple ⃃.

Consider skipping it if

  • Your monthly card spend can dip below ⃃ 4,000 — those months earn nothing.
  • Most of your spending is dining, shopping or travel — none of it earns here.
  • You spend abroad often — cashback is UAE-only and the 3.70% international fee hurts.
