The 5% headline is real and the salary bar is low, which makes this one of the strongest budget cashback cards in the UAE. But FAB has fenced it carefully: ⃃ 150 caps per category, a previous-month spend gate, and payouts in FAB Rewards rather than cash. Know the fences and it pays; ignore them and it quietly stops paying.

Earning and redeeming cashback

Cashback accrues as FAB Rewards at fixed posting rates — 5% categories post 17 FAB Rewards per ⃃ 1, international spend posts 10, and everything else 3.5 or 0.5. The three 5% categories (supermarkets, fashion, dining) are each capped at ⃃ 150 cashback per month, and everything together stops at ⃃ 1,000 per month. Crucially, you must have spent ⃃ 3,000 in the previous calendar month or nothing earns at all.

Redemption happens instantly in the FAB Mobile app, where roughly 16,700 FAB Rewards convert to ⃃ 50 of cashback value. Watch the dead zones: government payments, bills, education, insurance, rent and transport earn a token 0.15%, and quasi-cash, exchange-house and 0% installment transactions earn nothing. Unredeemed cashback expires 2 years after the transaction.
