Rewards rate
For a card that costs nothing, 2.5 points per is a good deal, and earning more abroad than at home is a genuine quirk in your favour. Just read the name as marketing: there are no lounges here, and the 2% cashback NBF advertises on its listing page is not what the rewards table actually pays.
Earning and redeeming NBF Rewards points
The Platinum Exclusive earns 2.5 NBF Rewards points per on UAE spending and 3.5 points per internationally. That inversion — a higher rate abroad than at home — is rare in the UAE, and it makes the card a reasonable travel companion even though it carries no travel benefits of its own.
NBF's special categories pay a flat 1 point per : supermarkets, telecom, fuel, educational institutions, government services, charities, transport, rental companies, insurers and fast food. If your monthly spend is dominated by groceries, school fees and utilities, your blended rate will land far closer to 1x than 2.5x. Earning is capped at 999,999 points a month, and anything transacted inside NBF Direct or online banking earns nothing.
Redeem through the NBF Direct app for digital gift cards, instant cashback credited to the card, or a transfer to Etihad Guest Miles — the ratio for which NBF does not publish. At NBF's own valuation of 0.0035 a point, 2.5 points per is about 0.9% back, which is why we have not repeated the "2% cashback" claim from NBF's cards listing. Points expire two years after the month in which you earn them.

- Earns more abroad than at home, at 3.5 points per internationally, which few UAE cards do.
- Reachable at an 9,000 salary, well below the 40,000 the Infinite demands.

- 2.99% a month is at the expensive end of the UAE market, and 0.5 points above the Infinite's rate.
- NBF's own cards listing advertises "2% cashback" on this card, but the published earn works out closer to 0.9% on UAE spend.
- Supermarkets, fuel, telecom, education, government services, insurance and fast food drop to 1 point per .
- The 2.5% foreign-currency fee sits on top of Visa's own processing fee and is quoted before 5% VAT.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an annual fee for the NBF Platinum Exclusive Credit Card?+
NBF markets it as having no annual fee, and the Key Facts Statement says lifetime free. Note 12 of the schedule of charges adds the detail: the listed fee is AED 250, waived for as long as you maintain the relevant segment eligibility.
What is the minimum salary required for this card?+
AED 9,000 a month. The card is open to both salaried and self-employed applicants, and to UAE nationals and residents alike, though NBF may require a minimum job tenure or business duration. It can also be issued against a fixed deposit of at least AED 60,000.
Does the NBF Platinum Exclusive come with airport lounge access?+
No. NBF's page for this card lists no lounge benefit and no Visa Airport Companion access — those sit on the NBF Infinite. If lounge access is the reason you are applying, this is not the card.
How many points does the Platinum Exclusive earn?+
2.5 NBF Rewards points per AED spent in the UAE and 3.5 points per AED internationally. NBF's special categories — supermarkets, telecom, fuel, education, government services, charities, transport, rentals, insurance and fast food — earn 1 point per AED. Earning is capped at 999,999 points a month.
Does this card really give 2% cashback?+
NBF's cards listing page describes the card as earning "impressive rewards and 2% cashback", but the bank's own rewards page gives the earn rate as 2.5 points per AED and values a point at 0.0035. That works out at roughly 0.9% on UAE spend and about 1.2% abroad. We have flagged the discrepancy rather than repeat the 2% figure.
What is the interest rate on the NBF Platinum Exclusive?+
2.99% per month on retail balances, with up to 50 interest-free days if you clear the statement in full. Interest on cash advances starts immediately and is charged even if you pay the account in full that cycle.
How many supplementary cards do I get?+
Two free supplementary cards, then AED 100 each from the third card onwards, per the Key Facts Statement and schedule of charges. The card page separately says up to five cards can be issued to family members over 15.
