Our full review of the Emirates NBD Voyager World Elite, the bank’s flagship travel card: 12 Voyager Miles per ⃃ 1 on the Voyager Travel Portal, unlimited lounge access and a free first year — weighed against an ⃃ 1,575 renewal fee, real foreign-transaction costs and an ⃃ 25,000 salary bar. Earning Voyager Miles

Every purchase earns Voyager Miles, but the rates are steeply tiered — and the tiers decide whether this card makes sense for you:

  • 12 Voyager Miles per ⃃ 1 on flights and hotels booked through the Voyager Travel Portal
  • 6 Voyager Miles per ⃃ 1 on all other travel bookings
  • 1 Voyager Mile per ⃃ 1 on all other retail spend

Fuel, transit, government, utilities, real estate, education, charity & telecom0.1
Earn rates as published by Emirates NBD. Verified 20 August 2026.

Now the fine print, because it matters. Several everyday categories earn only a fraction of the base rate: groceries, supermarkets, insurance, quick-service restaurants, car dealerships and spend originating in the EU and UK earn 25% of the base rate, while fuel, transit, government services, utilities, real estate, education, charity and telecom earn just 10%. There are no earning caps, but if most of your budget lives in those categories, this is the wrong card for the job.

The welcome offer is generous but demanding: up to 150,000 Voyager Miles when you spend ⃃ 70,000 within the first 3 billing statements — roughly ⃃ 23,000 a month, in the first year only. Only chase it if that spend happens naturally; buying things to hit a bonus threshold is how rewards cards end up costing money.

Redeeming Voyager Miles

Redemption runs through ENBD X: log in, select your Voyager card and tap your miles balance to open the Voyager Travel Portal, where miles pay for flight tickets and hotel stays — or transfer out to partner airlines and hotels if you prefer another loyalty programme.

Emirates NBD’s own illustration talks about earning over 1,000,000 miles and ⃃ 7,566 in annual travel savings in your first year. Treat those figures as marketing assumptions built on a very heavy spending profile, not as entitlements — your results will depend entirely on how much travel you actually book.

One gap worth knowing: the bank doesn’t publish a clear miles-expiry policy on the product page, so check the Voyager terms and conditions before you stockpile a large balance.

Travel and lifestyle benefits

Pros
Cons
  • Huge earn rate: 12 miles per ⃃ 1 on the Voyager portal, 6x on other travel
  • Up to 150,000 Voyager Miles welcome bonus
  • Unlimited lounge access plus airport transfers, meet & greet and 3 fast-track passes a year
  • First-year annual fee waived (⃃ 1,575 value)
  • Lower 3.25% monthly interest rate than most Emirates NBD cards
  • ⃃ 1,575 annual fee from year two
  • ⃃ 25,000 minimum salary shuts out most applicants
  • Base retail earn is just 1x — groceries, fuel, utilities and EU/UK spend earn only 10–25% of that
  • 1.99% foreign-transaction fee plus a ~1.15% network fee on non-⃃ spend
  • Top rate requires booking through the bank’s own Voyager Travel Portal
  • Welcome bonus needs ⃃ 70,000 spend within 3 statements

This is where the ⃃ 1,575 renewal fee earns its keep — or doesn’t. The travel stack covers the whole journey, not just the departure gate:

  • Unlimited lounge access for the cardholder at more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide — the bank doesn’t publish a guest policy, so assume guests pay
  • Complimentary airport transfers, domestic and international — home to airport, or hotel and back
  • International meet & greet at select airports: check-in assistance and an escort through immigration, baggage claim and customs
  • 3 immigration fast-track services per year
  • OneVasco visa service — complimentary travel-visa appointment and end-to-end processing
  • Travel insurance, with a Mastercard travel-insurance confirmation letter available on request

On the lifestyle side there’s complimentary golf at select UAE courses, discounted movie experiences, valet parking at select Abu Dhabi locations, up to 30% off dining through Bon Appétit, up to 50% off health and fitness through LiveWell, and the Mastercard World Elite concierge with partner perks from Avis, Hertz, Farfetch, Booking.com and Careem.

A caution on the bank’s numbers: the ⃃ 7,200 golf, ⃃ 1,395 cinema and ⃃ 720 valet valuations are Emirates NBD’s own assumptions (12 rounds of golf, 12 valet uses, specific ticket types), and no entitlement counts are published. Value the perks you will genuinely use, not the brochure total.

Fees: the joining-fee reality

There is no joining fee and the first year is free. From year two the annual fee is ⃃ 1,575 including VAT — one of the higher renewal fees in the UAE market, so the maths has to work every single year, not just in the free one.

  • Interest rate: 3.25% per month (39% p.a.) on unpaid balances per the bank’s per-card price guide — the generic Key Facts Statement quotes up to 3.69% across cards, so confirm the rate on your own offer letter
  • Interest-free period: up to 55 days when you pay the balance in full
  • Foreign transactions: a 1.99% bank fee plus roughly 1.15% network processing — about 3.1% all-in on non-⃃ spend
  • Cash advance: 3.15% of the amount, minimum ⃃ 103.95
  • Late payment: ⃃ 241.50 · over-limit: ⃃ 292.95 · minimum payment: 5%

The foreign-transaction line deserves emphasis: unlike some premium travel cards, the Voyager World Elite does charge FX fees, so the 6x rate on overseas travel spend is partly offset by that ~3.1% cost. For large non-⃃ purchases, do the arithmetic before assuming the miles win.

Eligibility — and who should not get this card

You need a minimum monthly salary of ⃃ 25,000, UAE residency, and either salaried or self-employed income. That bar alone rules out most applicants — this is deliberately a top-tier product.

Even if you qualify, we’d steer you away in four situations:

  • Your spend is mostly groceries, fuel, utilities and telecom — those categories earn 10–25% of an already modest 1x base rate
  • You travel once a year or less — the fee-to-perks maths won’t close after the free first year
  • You carry a balance — at 3.25% a month, interest wipes out any miles value almost immediately
  • You can’t reach ⃃ 70,000 in 3 statements organically — never spend your way to a welcome bonus

Voyager World Elite vs. the alternatives

The Voyager World Elite sits in a crowded premium-travel field — including inside Emirates NBD’s own line-up:

Choose the Voyager World Elite when all three align: you clear the salary bar, you book travel several times a year, and you’re happy running bookings through the bank’s own portal to capture the 12x rate.

“This is the UAE travel card to beat on earn rates — 12x through the Voyager portal is unmatched — and the perks genuinely cover the whole trip, from the visa appointment to the ride home. Just be honest about year two: if you won’t spend enough on travel to out-earn ⃃ 1,575, the free-for-life Voyager World keeps most of the DNA at no cost.”
Ahmed Khattab · Credit cards editor · Reviewed August 21, 2026

The Voyager World Elite is Emirates NBD’s strongest pure-travel proposition. Booking through the Voyager Travel Portal at 12 miles per ⃃ — with 6x on any other travel — builds a miles balance faster than almost anything else in the UAE market, and the perk stack (unlimited lounges, airport transfers at both ends, meet & greet, fast-track immigration, the OneVasco visa service) covers the whole journey.

The catch is concentration. Everyday retail earns a modest 1 mile per ⃃, the reduced categories earn far less, foreign transactions carry a real ~3.1% cost, and the ⃃ 1,575 renewal fee only pays for itself if you genuinely travel several times a year. If your spend is mostly domestic and everyday, a cashback card will return more — and if you want the Voyager system without the fee, the free Voyager World exists for exactly that reason.
