Nothing in the UAE beats a no-fee flat 2% with an ⃃ 2,500 cap — Wio just hides the price in the plan: Standard customers earn zero cashback, so the real cost of the 2% is a salary transfer or a Plus subscription. Treat it as the best second card for Wio banking customers rather than a perks card.

Earning and redeeming Wio cashback

Wio Credit pays a flat 2% on every purchase — online, in store, at home or abroad — with none of the tier ladders or category exclusions UAE cashback cards usually carry. The cap is a high ⃃ 2,500 per calendar month (shared with your debit 'My Money' spending), and even the classic dead zones earn something: 0.5% on government payments, real estate and utilities, and 0.5% for paying other banks' credit cards through the app.

There's nothing to redeem manually: cashback lands automatically on the 1st of the following month in your current account, a savings space, or a recurring investment — your choice in the Rewards section. The one hard rule: Standard Plan customers earn no cashback, so the rate effectively requires the Salary Plan (⃃ 15,000 salary transfer), Plus (⃃ 49/month, waived with ⃃ 35,000 in balances) or a Family plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wio Credit a real credit card?+

Yes. Wio Credit is delivered through the Wio Mastercard World Card: once your credit limit is approved, you switch the card to Credit mode in the app and purchases are debited from your credit limit, with statements, a minimum payment and up to 60 interest-free days like any credit card. It's issued as a virtual card, with a physical card available on request.

What do I need to qualify for Wio Credit?+

Be 21–65 years old, a UAE resident employed in the UAE for at least 3 months, with a monthly salary of AED 7,000 or more. Approval is subject to Wio's credit assessment, including an AECB check.

How does the 2% cashback work?+

You earn 2% on all purchases made using Wio Credit, up to AED 2,500 of cashback per calendar month (the cap includes debit 'My Money' spends). Government, real estate and utility payments earn 0.5%, and paying other banks' credit cards earns 0.5% (needs AED 5,000+ retail spend in the same cycle). Cashback is not available on the Standard Plan.

Does Wio Credit have an annual fee?+

No annual or joining fee appears in Wio's Schedule of Fees or the credit KFS. Note that your Wio Personal plan has its own monthly cost unless waived — e.g. Standard is AED 25/month unless you keep AED 3,000 across accounts, while Salary Plan is free with an AED 15,000 salary transfer.

What interest does Wio Credit charge?+

If you don't repay in full, rolled-over balances are charged 3.25% per month (39% APR) on Standard, Plus and Family plans, or 2.29% per month (27.48% APR) on the Salary Plan. Your exact offer is shown in the app before you accept the limit. Paying in full gives you up to 60 interest-free days.

What is Easy Cash?+

Easy Cash lets you draw up to 50% of your credit limit as cash into your Wio account, charged AED 1 per day per AED 1,000 borrowed (about 36.5% APR) — or converted into an instalment plan. A late fee of AED 199 applies if you miss the repayment window.

Can I split purchases into instalments?+

Yes — eligible transactions, balances, other-bank card payments and Easy Cash can be converted into fixed instalment plans from 3 to 48 months. A 3-month plan carries an AED 52.50 processing fee; 6–48-month tenures have none. Rates range from 0% up to the rollover rate and are fixed once confirmed.

Is there a deposit-secured version?+

Yes. Wio offers a secured credit card backed by a locked deposit, with a credit limit of up to 80% of the deposit — the deposit keeps earning interest and is released when the card is closed.
