Rewards rate
A free-for-life card that actually pays on everything is rare, and the Skywards toggle makes it more flexible than most cashback cards. Just don't book flights on it — travel sits in the 0.1% penalty bucket — and know that the full 2% only shows up in months you spend 10,000 or more.
Earning and redeeming Liv rewards
The Liv Cashback Card earns points on every purchase, and the rate is set by your total spend that calendar month: 0.75% below 5,000, 1.5% from 5,000, and 2% once you cross 10,000 — the higher tier applies retroactively to everything you bought that month. Cashback is capped at 750 per month (and also limited relative to your credit limit), while government, utility, telecom and travel-service payments earn a token 0.1%.
Redemption is where Liv stands out: from the Liv X app you choose whether points become cashback or Emirates Skywards Miles (up to 5,000 Miles a month), switching programs anytime without changing your physical card. You need a minimum of 500 points to redeem, and points are calculated on merchant settlement, not purchase date.

Is the Liv credit card really free?+

A base salary of at least AED 5,000 paid through bank transfer, an AECB credit score of 541 or higher, and existing instalments below 50% of your salary.
