This is the card HSBC gives you rather than sells you. As a free accessory to a Private Banking relationship it's excellent — 14 guest-inclusive lounge visits, concierge, golf and hotel privileges with zero fees anywhere. Our only real grumbles: the earn rate is unpublished, and the lounge benefit still demands a quarterly foreign-currency transaction like any mass-market Mastercard.

Earning and redeeming HSBC Points

The card earns HSBC Rewards Points on all spend, redeemable for flights, hotel stays, shopping vouchers or frequent flyer miles through the HSBC UAE app. Unusually, HSBC publishes no Points-per-⃃ rate for this card — unlike Premier and Advance, which openly earn 1 Point per ⃃ 1 — so we can't score its earning power.

HSBC Rewards replaced the bank's Air Miles programme (HSBC-earned Air Miles converted 1:1) and runs on calendar-month cycles. Until HSBC publishes point values and the frequent-flyer transfer list, treat this as a perks card that happens to earn, not an earning card.

Frequently asked questions

Who can get the HSBC Private Bank Credit Card?+

It's available when you successfully open an HSBC Private Bank account. HSBC's tariff schedule sets Private Bank eligibility at a minimum balance of USD 2,000,000 in deposits and/or investments with the bank — there is no salary-based route and no public application for the card alone.

Is there an annual fee?+

No. The Private Bank Credit Card has no annual fee, supplementary cards are free, and — unusually — there's no over-limit fee either.

How does the lounge access work?+

You get 14 complimentary visits a year, for you and a guest, to over 1,200 lounges worldwide via the Mastercard Travel Pass app; additional guests cost USD 32 each. To keep access active you must make a cross-border transaction of USD 1 or more at least once every 3 months (and at least 72 hours before a visit); otherwise you're limited to 2 visits per calendar year.

What rewards does the card earn?+

It earns HSBC Rewards Points on all spend, redeemable for flights, hotel stays, shopping vouchers or frequent flyer miles through the HSBC UAE app. HSBC doesn't publish the Points-per-AED earn rate for this card, so we can't quantify the earning power.

What does the concierge cover?+

The international concierge service handles luxury travel planning, fine-dining reservations and access to exclusive events — a Mastercard World Elite-tier service, subject to Mastercard's terms.

Are there instalment or balance transfer plans?+

Yes — balance transfers, cash instalment plans and flexi instalment plans are available at a reducing-balance fixed APR of 0.00% to 29.88% depending on your circumstances and term, with AED 0 early settlement fees.
