Rewards rate
"For a regular Etihad flyer this is the FAB card to argue about: 35,000 miles up front, a genuinely reachable Silver fast track, and lounge access at a fee the joining bonus repays in year one. Our objections are the family-wide ones — the advertised 6.5 rate is a paid add-on, and at 3.99% a month you must never, ever revolve."
Earning and redeeming Etihad Guest Miles
The base rates are 2.75 miles per 10 at home and 4.5 per 10 abroad, with double miles — 5.5 per 10 — on tickets booked directly on Etihad Airways and partner websites, uncapped. Supermarkets, utilities, fuel, transport, education and government payments earn a flat 1.5 per 10; everything else caps at 30,000 miles a month and rounds down to the whole mile. The 'up to 6.5' headline is the optional Miles Accelerator at 250 a month — not the card's real rate.
What separates the Signature from the Platinum is status mechanics. Every 10 also earns 2.5 Etihad Tier Miles (doubled in your first 90 days, capped at 25,000 a year), and the Silver fast track — two return flights in six months or 25,000 Tier Miles in a year — brings 25% bonus miles and extra baggage. Add the 50%-off award voucher at 150,000 annual spend and two inflight Wi-Fi vouchers, and card spend converts into Etihad status unusually quickly. Miles sweep daily into your Etihad Guest account for redemption on etihadguest.com.

Pros and cons
- 35,000-mile joining bonus — worth well over the 1,575 first-year fee for an Etihad flyer
- Fast track to Etihad Guest Silver via two return flights or 25,000 Tier Miles, plus 2.5 Tier Miles per 10 on all spend
- Free access to 1,000+ airport lounges worldwide
- Double miles (5.5 per 10) on direct Etihad and partner bookings, uncapped
- 50% miles-discount voucher on award flights at 150,000 annual spend, plus 2 inflight Wi-Fi vouchers
- The advertised 'up to 6.5 miles per 10' is the Miles Accelerator rate — a paid booster at 250 a month
- 3.99% monthly interest (47.88% APR) is among the highest in the UAE market
- 1,575 a year with no first-year waiver, and the joining bonus never repeats
- Supermarkets, fuel, utilities, education and government spend earn just 1.5 per 10, with a 30,000-mile monthly cap on everything
- Foreign spend costs up to 2.61% + VAT plus Visa scheme charges — blunting the higher international earn rate
Is it right for you?
Get this card if
- You fly Etihad several times a year — the joining bonus, Silver fast track and lounges all pay you.
- You earn 15,000+ and book Etihad directly online, where the uncapped 5.5 rate lives.
- You can put real spend through the card — Tier Miles and the 150,000 voucher reward volume.
Consider skipping it if
- You fly Etihad once a year or less — 1,575 buys perks you won't use.
- Your spend is mostly supermarkets, fuel and utilities, earning a token 1.5 per 10.
- You carry a balance — 3.99% a month (47.88% APR) dwarfs any miles value.
Alternatives to consider
55,000 joining miles, a Gold fast track after one return flight and a 75% award voucher — the top tier if you clear 30,000 salary.

Frequently asked questions
What is the annual fee on the FAB Etihad Guest Signature card?+
AED 1,575 including VAT (AED 1,500 + VAT). It is charged one month after the card is opened and then annually on the same date. Supplementary cards cost AED 262.50 each.
How many joining miles do I get?+
35,000 Etihad Guest Miles, credited after you activate the card and pay the statement carrying the annual fee. It is a one-time privilege per customer — cancelling and re-applying earns nothing. Supplementary cards add a one-time 5,000 miles.
How many miles do I earn per AED 10?+
2.75 miles on domestic spend and 4.5 on international spend. Direct online bookings with Etihad Airways or its partners earn double — 5.5 per AED 10, uncapped. Supermarkets & utilities, fuel & conveyance, and education & government payments earn a reduced 1.5 per AED 10. Overall earning is capped at 30,000 miles a month and rounds down to the nearest mile.
How do I get fast-tracked to Etihad Guest Silver?+
Either complete two return Etihad flights booked with this card within 6 months of first activation, or collect 25,000 Tier Miles within one year. The upgrade is confirmed within 45 days by email. You earn 2.5 Tier Miles per AED 10 on all spend — doubled to 5 during your first 90 days — capped at 25,000 Tier Miles per calendar year.
What lounge access does the card include?+
Free access to more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide. FAB does not publish the access program, visit allowance or guest policy on the card page — confirm before you rely on it.
How does the 50% Miles Discount Voucher work?+
Spend AED 150,000 on the card within a card year (including balance transfers) and Etihad Guest emails you a voucher that halves the miles needed for up to two return award tickets, any class and destination. One voucher per year, valid six months, and not usable for July, August or December flights.
What is the Miles Accelerator Programme?+
An optional booster costing AED 250 a month (minimum two months) that lifts your earn rate to 6.5 miles per AED 10 on all spend — the 'up to 6.5' rate FAB advertises. The 30,000-mile monthly cap still applies and no extra Tier Miles are earned.
What is the minimum salary requirement?+
AED 15,000 per month.
