"Don't get this card for the points — 1.5 per ⃃ 100 with penalty rates on essentials is forgettable. Get it because it's free and Bon Appétit knocks up to 30% off at two thousand restaurants. For anyone who eats out weekly, that's real money on a card that costs nothing."

Earning and redeeming Plus Points

The Visa Platinum earns 1.5 Plus Points per ⃃ 100 on general retail spend, with ENBD's usual penalty buckets: 0.4 points per ⃃ 100 at supermarkets, groceries, insurance and car dealerships, and 0.2 on fuel, utilities, real estate and education. A per-statement earning cap applies, and the bank doesn't publish the amount.

Points redeem instantly at key merchant outlets at the point of sale — simple and immediate, with no transfer partners or portals. The realistic way to value this card, though, is through its discounts: Bon Appétit (up to 30% off dining at 2,000+ restaurants) and LiveWell (up to 50% off health and fitness) will out-earn the points for almost every cardholder.
