"Perk for perk, this is Arab Bank's most useful card short of the invitation-only World Elite: lounges, a Talabat discount every month, free Costa at DXB and real hotel and car-rental savings. The catch is that the bank never says what it costs — its fee schedule still prices a Mastercard Titanium instead."

Earning and redeeming Arabi Points

Arab Bank's Arabi Points programme pays 1 point per ⃃ 2 on local and international spend alike, with monthly caps of 100,000 points locally and 300,000 internationally. Points redeem for cash at 60,000 points per ⃃ 1,000, either instantly at an ATM or transferred to your account through Arabi Mobile and Arabi Online — roughly 0.83% back, and they expire after 24 months.

One caveat worth knowing: the published earning table names Arab Bank's Mastercards as Titanium and World Elite, not Platinum, even though the website only sells a Platinum Mastercard. Every named tier earns the same 1 point per ⃃ 2, so the rate is almost certainly identical — but confirm it, along with the annual fee, when you apply.

Is it right for you?

Get this card if

  • You want lounge access without paying a premium-tier annual fee.
  • You order on Talabat, stay at IHG or Booking.com properties and rent cars abroad.
  • You make at least one foreign-currency purchase every quarter, which keeps the lounge benefit unlocked.

Consider skipping it if

  • You need to know the annual fee before you apply and won't chase the bank for it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the annual fee on the Arab Bank Platinum Mastercard?+

Arab Bank does not publish one. Its UAE Fees and Charges schedule and Credit Cards Key Facts Statement list a primary Mastercard Titanium at AED 300 (AED 150 for life for Elite customers) and a Mastercard World Elite, but neither document has a Platinum Mastercard line — while the website sells a Platinum Mastercard and no Titanium. The most likely explanation is that the Titanium tier has been rebranded Platinum and the fee documents have not caught up, but we will not print a number the bank has not published. Ask for the fee in writing before applying.

Does the Platinum Mastercard include airport lounge access?+

Yes, through Mastercard Travel Pass powered by DragonPass, at up to 1,200 airport lounges. Platinum cardholders receive one complimentary visit up front. After that, each cross-border transaction of USD 1 or more unlocks three calendar months of complimentary lounge access and airport dining, subject to an annual cap that depends on card tier and is not published.

Can I bring a guest into the lounge?+

Not for free. Each cardholder, primary or supplementary, must show their own QR code from the Mastercard Travel Pass app to avoid guest charges.

How do I register for lounge access?+

Download the Mastercard Travel Pass app, register your Arab Bank Mastercard, then show the QR code from 'Access Lounge' on the Members Access page. Access can also be validated with the membership number in the app.

How many Arabi Points does the card earn?+

Arab Bank's Arabi Points table sets 1 point per AED 2 for every card tier in the programme except the Gold, on local and international spend alike — about 0.83% back, since 60,000 points redeem for AED 1,000. The table names the bank's Mastercards as Titanium and World Elite rather than Platinum, so confirm your card's earning rate with the bank.

Is purchase protection included?+

Yes. Mastercard purchase protection automatically covers purchases against theft or accidental damage for 180 days.

What are the borrowing terms?+

3.59% per month on the outstanding balance, up to 52 interest-free days on retail purchases when you pay in full, minimum payment of 5% or AED 100 (whichever is higher), late payment AED 230 and over-limit AED 275. All fees are quoted excluding 5% VAT.

What does it cost to spend in a foreign currency?+

Up to 3% cross-border and foreign-exchange commission on the transaction value, plus the exchange rate. That said, you need at least one cross-border transaction to keep the lounge benefit alive.
